Semolina (sooji) Halwa

* semolina halwa is a very popular east Indian dessert and is like a thick pudding. Hope you enjoy this recipe.
Sooji Halwa









Ingredients:
1/2 cup semolina (sooji)
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups milk
100ml milk
Garnish: Raisins, almonds, coconut shreds etc...

Method:
1. In one pot melt butter and in another separate pot bring water to a boil.
2. Once the butter melts add semolina and stir till a golden brown.
3. While doing step 2  add sugar to the water when the water comes to a slight boil.
4. Add the water and sugar mixture to the golden brown semolina and butter mixture and stir till thick.
5. Once the mixture is thick stir in milk and take the halwa off the heat.
6. Garnish and Serve.
